HTTP / HTTPS Monitoring
HTTP/HTTPS monitoring is the core of CheckOps. Every check runs from multiple European regions simultaneously, giving you a complete picture of endpoint availability and performance.
CONFIGURATION
Section titled “CONFIGURATION”| Parameter | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
url |
Full URL including protocol | Required |
method |
HTTP method (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, HEAD) | GET |
interval |
Check frequency in seconds | 60 |
timeout |
Request timeout in milliseconds | 10000 |
follow_redirects |
Follow 3xx redirects | true |
regions |
Array of region codes | All available |
REQUEST OPTIONS
Section titled “REQUEST OPTIONS”You can configure custom headers and request body for each monitor:
{ "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${API_TOKEN}", "Accept": "application/json" }, "body": "{\"ping\": true}"}Environment variables are supported in header values using ${VAR} syntax.
ASSERTIONS
Section titled “ASSERTIONS”Assertions define what constitutes a healthy response. A check fails if any assertion fails.
AVAILABLE ASSERTION TYPES
Section titled “AVAILABLE ASSERTION TYPES”| Type | Operators | Example |
|---|---|---|
status_code |
equals, not_equals, greater_than, less_than | Status is 200 |
response_time |
less_than, greater_than | Response under 2000ms |
header |
equals, contains, not_contains, exists | Content-Type contains json |
body |
contains, not_contains, equals, matches_regex | Body contains "ok" |
json_path |
equals, contains, greater_than, less_than | $.status equals "healthy" |
ssl_days_remaining |
greater_than | SSL cert valid for 30+ days |
body_size |
less_than, greater_than | Response under 1MB |
EXAMPLE CONFIGURATION
Section titled “EXAMPLE CONFIGURATION”{ "assertions": [ { "type": "status_code", "operator": "equals", "value": 200 }, { "type": "response_time", "operator": "less_than", "value": 1500 }, { "type": "json_path", "path": "$.status", "operator": "equals", "value": "ok" }, { "type": "ssl_days_remaining", "operator": "greater_than", "value": 14 } ]}SSL CERTIFICATE MONITORING
Section titled “SSL CERTIFICATE MONITORING”HTTPS monitors automatically track SSL certificate status:
- Expiration date — Alerts when certificate is expiring within your threshold (default: 14 days)
- Certificate chain — Validates the full chain of trust
- Protocol version — Reports TLS version negotiated
- Issuer — Tracks certificate authority
SSL warnings appear as amber status on the dashboard without marking the monitor as DOWN.
RESPONSE DATA
Section titled “RESPONSE DATA”Each check result includes:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
status |
UP, DOWN, or DEGRADED |
response_time |
Total request duration in ms |
status_code |
HTTP response status code |
dns_time |
DNS resolution time in ms |
tls_time |
TLS handshake time in ms |
ttfb |
Time to first byte in ms |
region |
Region that executed the check |
timestamp |
ISO 8601 timestamp |
All timing data is stored and available for historical analysis and performance trending.
